Île du Levant is the most confidential of the three Hyères islands. Partly naturist (in the Heliopolis village zone), preserved, with rocky paths and turquoise creeks. A 1h boat ride from Hyères or 35 min from Le Lavandou.
The island has a unique history: created in 1931 by two visionary doctors, Heliopolis became one of the first naturist villages in Europe. The naturist zone is signposted (around 1/4 of the island); the rest of the island remains family-clothed. Visitors can wander everywhere without obligation either way.
Beyond Heliopolis, the island offers wild walking paths, two restaurants in the village, a wine bar, an organic herbalist, a small museum. The military zone (3/4 of the island) is closed to visitors — only the marked trails are accessible.
